“We’re simply selling dreams to a woman on a good day or exploiting her insecurities on a bad day”
I was once told by a beauty industry veteran…It got me thinking…
Beauty is one of the oldest and most lucrative industries in the world. It’s as old as we are, and turns over hundreds of billions. Those numbers are taken very seriously by large beauty multi-nationals and are protected defensively, offensively and aggressively. They’ve enjoyed global domination for a long time, but now the tide is turning.
34% of women are now looking for products with natural or organic ingredients, and 33% have now switched to natural or organic brands in the last 12 months.
Meet conditioner, conditioner is shampoos best friend. She’s younger than her older brother but accounts for a staggering metric in those sales. She’s also contributing to the chemicals we’re applying daily.
I came across this article some time ago and it affirmed to me that inverse is certainly an easy way for anyone to make a big difference; reducing chemical exposure, reducing carbon footprint.
