Jonti is an active 25 year old, who spends a lot of time outdoors in the New Zealand sunshine! As someone who loves natural products, Jonti was keen to give inverse a go. This is her #inversehair experience!
I’m 25 years old and live a pretty active lifestyle. I spend a lot of time either at the gym or going for runs and walks. I love having long hair but because I am doing a lot of activity and washing my daily has never appealed to me, majority of the time my hair is up in a low maintenance bun on top of my head. I have spent the last few years with my hair care routine consisting of weekly washes, bimonthly trims and that is about it!
My hair may look thick, but it is actually really fine. I just have a lot of it! It’s got a bit of a natural wave which has a tendency to go quite fluffy when I wash it, so I often end up straightening the wave out when I want to wear it down to fight the fluffiness.
I require regular trims, because while my hair is healthy and strong, it spends so much time in an elastic (up in a bun or pony). Due to this, it’s has become prone to split and damaged ends. Fly-always are also a big part of my life!
I was curious to try inverse because I really love the idea of not using any chemicals on my hair. I have recently started paying attention to the ingredients in the masses of products we seem to lather on our bodies.
Also, it just made sense – my hair needed a little repairing, and if ice can cure a stiff or sore muscle why couldn’t it hydrate/nourish my hair and encourage it to repair from the inside? The more I thought about it the more logical it seemed.
Results were definitely not instant, but after continuous use I have noticed a big difference in both the feel of my hair and the shine.
It feels and looks significantly less fluffy when I let it dry naturally and seems to reflect light rather than sit limp and dull.
It also feels light, because I’m no longer using lots of conditioner or hydrating products to stop it from drying out. I no longer have product build up sitting on top of my hair.
When I first started using inverse, I would use it about three times a week. I would wet my hair specifically to use it!
Now that my hair is feeling significantly healthier, I am back to my once-a-week washed, so I use inverse then when my hair is damp. I use it for 5-10 minutes. I use it on dry hair occasionally too, when I want an instant shine or to smooth out my fluffies.
I’ve found I use significantly less liquid conditioner on my hair, as my hair doesn’t seem to be as dry as it used to be. And because I like the way it dries naturally now, I don’t straighten it as much – which I guess in turn also contributes to less fly-aways and damage from the heat.
Love that it’s chemical free and doesn’t use power! It’s a one-time purchase which doesn’t need replacing – it’s such a great investment. Inverse has made me so much more confident about leaving my hair to dry naturally. It’s amazing how a bad hair day can ruin your whole vibe and I feel like I am having less and less of them thanks to inverse.
Just give it a go and don’t expect results to be instant (one salad won’t give you abs haha). But if you stick with it, inverse can really change your relationship with your hair and make you feel so much more confident with your natural locks :)
